If you are looking to invest in an electric fireplace, consult with us in Medicine Hat. At Moritz Masonry & Tile Supply, we recommend electric fireplaces because they efficiently heat a home and heat rooms faster than wood-burning fireplaces. Traditional chimney fireplaces let all the heat out through the chimney as heat rises. When you use an electric fireplace, your rooms not only warm up quickly but also stay warm for extended periods. Our electric fireplaces come with:

Are you looking to upgrade to an electric fireplace but are not sure whether it is suitable for your home? Feel free to read our FAQ section below. If you do not find what you are looking for, get in touch with us.

Do electric fireplaces emit a lot of heat?

With the use of silent fan-forced heaters, electric fireplaces are known to be 100% efficient. The heat produced is warm and gets evenly distributed in your space. This means all the energy used to run the heater is being converted to warmth.

Which is better – a gas or an electric fireplace?

A gas fireplace is known to produce more heat than an electric one. However, an electric fireplace suffices for a several hundred sq. ft. area. If your primary concern is cost and energy efficiency, an electric fireplace should be your choice.

My TV will be above the electric fireplace. Is it safe?

As most electric fireplaces emit heat from the front or bottom of the unit, your TV or any other item above the fireplace is not at risk.

Do electric fireplaces increase your energy bill?

A ‘flame effect only’ mode will cost about $0.02/ hour*. A standard 1500W unit that is run on high heat and flame effects will cost about $0.18 /hour. Your energy bill will have information about the usage of electricity per KW (kilowatt).

Are electric fireplaces durable?

Depending on the frequency of usage, electric fireplaces last for about 10 to 20 years. Many manufacturers’ warranties range from 1 year to 10 years based on the model.
